Starting From The Shoreline Again {When You Are Starting Your Life Over}

Hello there Mermaid Junkies,

I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share with you a few TTT {Treasure Trove Tips} that may be of some value to you.

As you guys know, if you're an avid fan of my youtube channel, You know that after my divorce I literally walked away with not one red cent. Not alimony, no money of any sort. The only thing I had was my car that's been paid for over a decade that was in my name {which I got 4 months down the road when the divorce was final}, and the two suitcases full of the things I could take with the weight restrictions onto the airplane. So when I say I literally am starting from scratch, that means literally from scratch.

I will say that because I was living the Law of Attraction, I was very resourceful and I had been a frugal woman all of my life. So I was able to manifest things rather quickly, and that even meant manifesting the money for my airline ticket, and money to pay for my own phone and new cell phone account that I wanted to be put in my own name. Things like that, if you may be specifically wondering.

I am sharing all of this with you; the nitty-gritty details. Because if there's one thing that has always annoyed me is that women talk about their journeys of pulling themselves from the ash, and so often they never tell you about the details. Like, "oh, so you started from scratch, but you still to this day have alimony from an ex every month. Or you got a payout from the ex, or you got the house in the divorce that was completely paid for." That to me, no offense, is not as much of a struggle. Does that make sense? I am not trying to make light of anyone's struggles, but I am just keeping the line of transparency open here on my blog. You guys know I'm one to tell it like I see it. I also want to clarify that I am a woman that is supportive of other women, but I am a woman that expects pure honesty and authenticity. If women aren't super transparent it gives other women that sense of insecurity of feeling like, "Oh man, I cant do what she did. What's wrong with me?" That's all I'm saying. I have been disillusioned by several women in this manner, and I will not do that to you, my readers.

Okay. Okay.

Now back to this post. I wanted to share with you if you happen to be truly working from the shoreline to recreate a life for yourself, I wanted to give you a few tips on how to keep and maintain a few little luxuries while you are starting over.

Because you guys, let's be honest. When we're truly beginning again there are things like wearing makeup, or actually the basics of what to wash your face with, hair color maintenance, buying the normal things like a nice smelling candle to keep you happy to some degree, still dressing cute, or what if you don't have health insurance or dental insurance. What the crap are you supposed to do? I'll tell you. I am going to share with you what I did, in hopes that it might help to serve you if you are in that place right now. In future posts, I'll break down exactly what you can do if you are lucky enough to have your children with you, and are starting over. For instance, housing and support financially from the government {if you live in the USA}.

I know this is not what many want to address or talk about. We often times want to see the pretty flowery stuff in life. I am very much this way on a daily basis, but guys, we all have shit that hits the fan in life. I want to be that voice of inspiration when it does happen, and still inspire women for the pretty stuff as well, once we get back into the flow of joy.

Okay, so my housing was the blessings of having parents that were open and kind enough to let me stay with them. They also provided me with food. So yes, that's two huge things that I instantly had that I am so very appreciative of. I didn't have a bedroom to stay in so I slept on my parent's couch. I was going through a difficult time with not having my children with me. I had no sadness about my divorce, as I am the one that paid for it, wanted it and was super happy about that aspect. The ex wouldn't allow me to take my children, which would have been the two youngest {Zoë Kennedy and Brooker}. I let my children decide what they wanted to do since they were old enough and they wanted to graduate from the school they were enrolled at. They had moved so much, I understood completely why they wouldn't want to move again for the twenty-third time. I was not going to do that to my children. Too often women become vindictive and use their children as collateral to hurt the ex-husband. That my friends will bite you in the ass. Do not use your children to get back at someone, ever.

Now onto the things I was experiencing once I was settled with my parents. Only having the little money that I was able to earn through cleaning a relatives house, a painting job, and some organizing, I used to buy necessities. I did not go on clothes shopping sprees or out to dinner or leisure stuff. The pure basic necessities. My extended family was super generous in that way. I always worked for the money though. I didn't lay on my parent's couch expecting a handout because I was a soon to be a divorcee.

💦So when It was time to color my hair and cut my hair. I cut it myself. I had learned some tricks from my sister in law and I knew that if I needed to I could simply use some scissors from Sally's beauty supply and cut a basic line. No layers, just cutting the dead ends off. For the hair coloring, I went to the nearest Sally's Beauty Supply and bought the color that matched the best. I watched a youtube video on how to color my hair myself. Scissors were $9.59 {with beauty club card} at Sally's Beauty Supply, hair color Clairol $6.29 {with beauty club card}, tint brush 1.99 {with beauty club card}and hair mixing bowl $2.29 {with beauty club card}, developer $3.69 {with beauty club card}. The developer will last almost a year for the 16 0z.

💦My makeup consisted of drugstore makeup and actually still does to this day. I use Covergirl powder,  Cover Girl Neutralizer as a concealer, and lip pencil in "Mocha or "Real Red", Loreal mascara Brown/Black, Burts Bees lip shimmer in caramel. I also use the Burts Bees lip shimmer in cherry when I want a red lip.

💦Instead of using all the expensive facial washes I use ivory bar soap and Neutrogena fragrance-free lotion as a moisturizer. If I ever get a pimple, which rarely, if ever happens I use Melaleuca dōTerra essential oil. My dōTerra oils are going to be a whole other post, as I have a lot to share with you about them and it's going to call for a whole lot of information. Essential oils are my health care plan.😂

💦I use the Dollar Tree candles in fresh linen below even to this day. If you are like me, you love your surroundings to smell nice. I am a big fan of candles and have been since a girl. I have tried hundreds. I used to be obsessed with the gardenia candles from Martha Stewarts line at Kmart. That tells you how long I've been burning and experimenting with candles. My mom taught me all about candles and I used to sell candles for Salt City Candles and Partylite. I know. I am showing my age. Hehh...

I think those are the tips I'll share for today, even though I have a ton more. I'll be sure to keep creating posts for TTT {Treasure Trove Tips Tuesday}.

I hope this served you and be mindful that no matter where you are in your transformational tale, I am right here with you. Everything is gonna be alright I promise.

Yours til my next swim, Raquel

How To Leave A Legacy Through A Mermaid Methodological Educational Revolution

My dear friends,

I hope you're doing well.  Might you pour some tea? After leaving all social media except for my facebook page, I have been able to spend much more time productively working more on my blog. I want my blog to be the mothership of my business.
La Jolla, California

Back about six years ago, I took a course on blogging and the instruction was to niche my blog very specifically. Well, I knew I had a fascination for mermaids, but I wanted my niche to go even further than just mermaid lifestyle blogging. I wanted to have mermaids be the forefront, but also incorporate my love for being an inspirational orator/ law of attraction {teachings of abraham}. I know there are numerous spirituality blogs, but nothing like mine. I love living the law of attraction, but something I have noticed over the years is that I have never seen a blog or youtube channel, that had an old-fashioned aesthetic. I have only seen space, science looking blogs. I wanted mine to exclude something, not like anyone else. I know my blog is still in the infancy stage, as I am always expanding, but I feel I am creating a place that will be exciting and inspirational to swim to. not only inspirational but informational. People are inspired by blogs for two reasons; for entertainment or information. I want mine to be for both. I wanted to share all the things I've learned and how to implement them into a forum on what I have become an expert in, which is being a mermaid professionally {30 years experience}, but also law of attraction, spiritual growth, happiness, and to provide you with a way for you to create a life you love.

Have you ever noticed my painted mermaid art, all the mermaids have patches on their tales? I paint those patches on there as a way to remind us that even though we as women may have lives that may have not been unpleasant, with wounds, that we are still delightful and perfect in our own special way.  There have been many times that life has thrown me into a rock wall and resulted in a mangled and torn tail {metaphor for my spirit}. But that we can repair our lives and we can still be as beautiful of a mermaid as ever before.

This is for sale in my Etsy shop.

Now let's go back and reverse engineer what my niche is. I wanted the methodology/metaphors that I was teaching to circle back around to the foundation of what it means to be well balanced as a woman/girl. If I can give tactical tips, valued information, and DIY in a fun informative way through the perspective of being a real mermaid, I thought that would definitely give you my dear friends a way to learn, but also a fun way to learn. I figured out many years ago, as I was teaching my children by creating their school curriculums was to teach using a specific passion. For instance, when I homeschooled my children, I noticed if I niched their education towards a particular interest they had, they would learn very quickly and It was never a struggle to teach them. They soaked the knowledge like a sea sponge. So that's what I began creating. I put systems in place for each child and created the angle around their likes. My son Sawyer loved rap music, so I created an entire curriculum around his love for rap music. I did the same thing with each child.

Then, as I was thinking about how I wanted to create a legacy, I created The English Settlement aka {Mermaid Junkie Academy} implementing The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People with a twist of Mermaid methodology and the law of attraction.  My dream is to eventually find philanthropists, gifts in kind, and donors so that I can create schools where women/girls can go to workshops and learn. I want the schools to be old plantation homes and mansions. I have this idea that going to a workshop and learning, while also having tea time and dressing in old-fashioned attire would be such fun. It will feel like fairytale magic.  I plan to ask? I plan to use my book sales, a line of home goods, planner systems, a whole line of housewares, essential oil blends, my art, organizing tools, furniture line, a clothing line to fund the workshops. I know with full awareness this is indeed an undertaking, but I wake up every day excited at working away at it. It never feels like work to me. Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein, Tony Robbins, Walt Disney, Oprah Winfrey, Martha Stewart... they all started somewhere. And just as Steve Jobs was known for having said, " All the dots will connect." I believe that statement deeply. I have spent my life living all the things I am going to teach. I am desireth of leaving a legacy worthy of all those that i dearly love.

Always believe in yourself. It's so important to give yourself room to dream. In your day, set aside moments to do something for you. Too often we hear these words, but I know too often women don't actually do it.

I want you to hold yourself accountable. If you don't hold yourself accountable, no one will.

Finding Your Underwater Treasure Chest Of Abundance

Hello Sweet Friends,
Many of you beautiful new readers of mine may not be aware that before my transformational tale began, I was actually a full-fledged Interior Designer. I have a degree in Interior Design, as well as, a certification in psychology behind Interior Design. I have always been an ever learner, so while my children were itsy bitsy, I was very prone to cook dinner all the while reading at the same time. I'd remove recipe books from my book stands and replace it with a psychology book.

Last year my Beloved Gardener and I were so hoping to move to a beach house that looked very much like it was actually going to manifest. In the end, it did not. However, I know that everything happens for a reason.

The life area of your underwater castle is always in the direction of the southeast. I have this poster above in my southeast room of the cottage.
So for this year, 2018, I had set many new and exciting intentions and created a delightful vision board to coincide with my dreams for this lovely year. One of those particulars was to begin transforming the cottage, making it a gorgeous, serene, loving, wealthy and abundant place to dwell as a landlocked Mermaid. So it began on January 1st, 2018.

I put my Mermaid crown on and started to work through each room, and put to use those schooling years of design psychology. I thought that beings my soul was sparked with such wonder, excitement and joy for this journey, Id invite you to swim along with me, and I'll inspire you to do the same with your underwater castle... if you'd so fancy.
I have this poster in the abundance room of the cottage.
I'm going to share several treasure trove tips that will assist you in knowing what elements you should be placing in your abundance areas.

 TREASURE TROVE TIPS:

🏡  ~ The element of wealth and money is wood. So your magical mending will be to bring in a wood element, or an element that nourishes it. Such as water, water nourishes wood and earth element strengthens it. So for example, I put a poster of each of these waterfalls onto the wall of my  abundance area. Always make sure that if you use water in a photo that it's an active movement, such as a waterfall, instead of something like a still lake. I love still lakes, but stillness creates a lack of movement, newness, ever upwelling like oceans waves. Art with a wood element energy.

🏡  ~ Find art that really speaks to your heart. In this case, water is an expression of wealth for me. I'm exceedingly happy and feel great internal abundance when I look at the ocean or a waterfall.
🏡  ~ Another tip is to be mindful of colors. There's a whole world out there with regards to color therapy {I'll write a post about color therapy for you soon}. In your magical mending avoid strong fire or metal elements and colors and shapes for your money area. Use colors such as greens and browns or colors of water such as blacks and blues. As you can tell by my blog overall and my social media, I am in love with earthy warm colors. So I chose greens, browns, and black.
🏡  ~ I haven't hung it yet, but I wanted you to see my mirror {below}that I am planning to hang in my wealth/abundance area. If you choose a mirror, make sure it's a rectangle or square shape and that it's also framed by wood.
My antique wooden squared mirror for my abundance area.

🏡  ~ Fountains are another lovely approach to your money area. Plants are another wonderful mending to bring into your money area. If you delighted in painting, you might paint an accent wall.

I certainly am wishing that this post was of every bit of service to you and that perhaps you were able to gather your own special loot to make your underwater castle limitless with money and abundance.

Remember to always use your own internal compass and personal map to navigate your spiritual transformational tale. If you have any questions, swim on down to the comment section of this post and leave me a message in a bottle. I am always tickled conche shell pink with your engagement.

And as always,

Yours til my next swim, Raquel
