The Art Of Escapism {4 Television Shows To Assist In Diversion From The Pandemic}

Even though the world has gone on lockdown, watching mindless hours of television isn't a rarity, even for a pandemic.

I mean, television was created for entertainment; it was also designed to distract someone from the realities of life.

And right now, I think many folks need mindless hours of some good television to escape. Isn’t that what all humans are doing all day every day with recreational drugs, drinking, etc.? Yep, pretty much.

{Errr...}

However, I'm not judging, but I am making a fair point here.

The world needs to 'be woke', but for the sake of me without fail needing to make my content ‘evergreen’ I'm going to share some shows with you that I’d still indulge in regardless of an apocalypse. It's never a bad thing to forget about our troubles for a moment. A few hours of diversion will surely set the soul aright. At least long enough to gather the senses and gear up ready to take on the world yet again tomorrow.

So here goes.
Anne With an E {Netflix}

Do you have an olde fashioned soul, and loved the books, Ann of Green Gables, when you were a little girl like I did? I think you'll love this adaptation. The first and second season we're my favourite, three was a bit different than the books, but you'll still like it. I loved the good old days when life was simpler, and I love the setting, costume and farmhouse the best.

Downtown Abbey {Amazon Prime Video}

A show I've written about more than a million times before. This historical drama follows the lives of the Crawley family and their servants in the family's Edwardian country house, which, yes, happens to be a castle. It's hard to believe that the first episode aired ten years ago. Speaking of how the world has changed, at least on Downton Abbey, all the change is set back in the periods I love and you will too.

Little House on the Prairie {Amazon Prime Video}

I read the book series as a little girl {about a million times} and to be honest, as a child, reading was the leading way I escaped from the dysfunction in my home. I thoroughly recommend getting this series of books for your children. Perhaps begin a reading time and make it fun for the whole family.
Poldark { Amazon Prime Video}

A story about a Captain named Ross Poldark: He is a redcoat that has returned to Cornwall after the American Revolutionary War, only to find his father dead and his true love about to marry someone else.

Although I didn't care for how the show ended, albeit, it's still an excellent series and one I think you'd enjoy. I suggest reading this series of books, too. The books are always better, in my opinion. Do you agree?

Most affably yours til my next swim, Raquelxxx
